EDITORS NOTE: The Issue With The Issue

the April 17 issue is hitting the streets – and we made some mistakes

WE MADE SOME MISTAKES, AKA “The Issue with the Issue.” During the making of each issue of Volume One, our small-but-mighty crew is busy interviewing folks for stories, writing and editing, designing and illustrating, photographing, meeting with clients and working on print advertisements, and sharing some of that magic online too. Small-and-mighty… and human.

That last part is why some folks will notice a couple hiccups and errors in the issue that is rolling out today and tomorrow, April 17. With some internal staff changes and learning of new roles and technology, we have two wonky stories and layouts in the Arts section of the print issue that “got all weird” with the wrong text – and in one case crazy pink text. These stories will be published correctly and shared on our website and social channels, and re-printed in our next issue on May 1. There were another couple of (smaller) problems in the last issue too (April 3), which were versions of the same kind of mistake. So we’ve fully learned our lesson now.

While there can always be a typo here or there, when it comes to this kind of thing we do our best to limit – and avoid altogether – any big errors in our work, and we know our readers have come to expect quality from us. These last two issues haven’t quite lived up to that, and just as we’re apologizing to you, we’ve apologized to those directly affected by the mistakes. Thanks for reading and for hearing out your fellow humans. We’ve got it fixed up moving forward!
