Hometown Kid Makes it Big: Governor Declares "Kwik Trip Day"
it's official: June 16 is now Kwik Trip Day in Wisconsin

It's not every day a hometown kid gets a whole day named after them. Although, in this case, 'the kid' is a prolific chain of beloved Midwest convenience stores.
According to a recent media release, Governor Tony Evers has officially declared June 16 "Kwik Trip Day" in honor of the venerable Wisconsin institution's 60th birthday.
"Whether it's their high-quality fuel, ready-to-eat food, iconic Glazers Donuts, or one of my favorites, the Blueberry Dunker Donuts, Kwik Trip is a staple for Wisconsinites and folks across the Midwest. ... Happy birthday, Kwik Trip! And here's to many more years of service and success."
GOV. TONY EVERS
Now headquartered in La Crosse, Kwik Trip was born on June 16, 1965, in Eau Claire (that first location was opened at South Hastings Way). It remains a family-owned business, has nearly 900 locations in Wisconsin and neighboring states, and is nationally recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 100 best large employers. The Governor's media release also cites Kwik Trip's emphasis on vertical product integration, employment numbers, donation efforts, and customer-service.
But Volume One readers are no stranger to the massive presence of Kwik Trip. In our annual Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll, we had to add "Best Kwik Trip" as a question to address its popularity. Everyone has their opinions on the best, but our very smart readers chose (correctly) the River Prairie Kwik Trip as their No. 1.
