Asahi Nagata is a graphic design student at UW-Eau Claire.
Born in Sapporo, Japan, Asahi developed her passion for art from her artistic mother, comic books she loved to read, and doodling she always loved to do. Having experience in Japanese calligraphy and oil painting, she decided to go into the graphic design field when she was a sophomore in college. Although she had no idea what graphic design was by then, she fell in love with it as soon as she started it, and noticed that graphic design is the greatest way to use her illustration skills. While working as a graphic designer at Gear8 DESIGN in Sapporo her work has been mostly focused on illustration. Asahi’s illustrations often focused on the aesthetics of nature and animals and on her imagination.
