Acclaimed Poet Leila Chatti to Read Prolific Work in EC
The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library will host Leila Chatti, author and poet, on Thursday, April 12 at 6pm. At the gathering, Chatti will share selected pieces of her most recent writing. Born in California, Chatti is a Tunisian-American author, poet, and educator who has received fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, the Tin House Writers’ Workshop, and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing.
Her other accolades include the 2017-2018 Ron Wallace Poetry Fellowship at UW-Madison and the Academy of American Poets Prize. She is the author of the chapbooks Ebb and Tuniya/Amrikiya. Her poems have been published in Georgia Review, Kenyon Review Online, Narrative, Ploughshares, The Rumpus, Tin House, and Virginia Quarterly Review. She attended Michigan State University for her B.A. and has an M.F.A. from North Carolina State University.
Now Chatti teaches creative writing at UW-Madison and serves as the Consulting Poetry Editor at the Raleigh Review. This event is co-sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Writers Guild. No registration is required. More information is available at ecpubliclibrary.info.
