V1 Staff |
Just in time for the spooky season, Converge Radio and the Chippewa Valley Writers Guild are unleashing the second season of Oddly Enough, a locally written, produced, and performed radio drama. Described as part Twilight Zone and part X-Files – plus a dash of humor – Oddly Enough will explore tales of unusual archaeological discoveries, alien invasions, summer camp horrors, and other uncanny happenings.
The season’s 10 episodes were penned by a stable of local writers, including Laura Buchholz, Deb Peterson, B.J. Hollars, and Jim and Jane Jeffries. “Season one” which aired early this year – “really helped us get a handle on the radio drama’s tone, style, and structure,” said Hollars, who also serves as director of the writers guild. “Season two really allowed us to show off all that we’ve learned.” Karen Drydyk is showrunner for the series, which was produced by Scott Morfitt, station manager of Converge Radio (99.9 FM). Featured actors include Rob Reid, Amber Dernbach, Mike Paulus, Jill Markgraf, Matt Kiskunas, Bev Olson, Wayne Dallman, and many more.
