Listen Up, Musicians: The Library Will Pay to Stream Your Tunes
Sawdust City Sounds seeks local musical submissions by Oct. 31

If you’re a Chippewa Valley musician with at least three songs or 10 minutes worth of original music to your name, the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library wants to hear from you by Oct. 31.
The library is seeking fresh submissions for Sawdust City Sounds, an online platform hosted by the library that showcases and shares music made by locals – whether its filed under folk, punk, R&B, indie, country, blues, or good old rock ’n’ roll. According to the library, “The goal of the project is to help new audiences discover the wealth of today’s local music and inspire the creativity of tomorrow.”
Artists whose work is accepted with each receive a $200 honorarium, funded by the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library Endowment Fund. Jurors will review submissions, and will accept as many as 25 albums to add to the collection.
The submission window closes Oct. 31. Submission guidelines include the following:
- Music must have been produced after January 1, 2016.
- Submissions must have at least three tracks or a minimum of 10 minutes to be considered.
- A maximum of one album/set of tracks will be accepted per musical act.
- Musical acts must currently perform in the Eau Claire area.
