You’ve probably seen those “40 Under 40” features in other media where they profile young-ish movers and shakers. Here at Volume One, we always strive to do things a little differently, so a few years ago we launched “10 Under 10” to highlight a handful of the passionate youngsters in our community. It’s kind of like those other features, but one-quarter the age and four times as cute!

This year, “10 Under 10” will be part of our Aug. 11, 2022 issue. In partnership with Smiles in Motion and Kristo Orthodontics, Volume One will feature 10 outstanding local kids who are 10 years old or younger. In order to find these nifty kiddos, we’re seeking nominations from our readers. We’re looking for diverse nominees in terms of age, ability, interests, culture, and favorite activities. Volume One editors will review the nominees to select a group of kids who represent our diverse community and the varied interests of local children.

It’s important to note that lots of truly great kids won’t be selected. The 10 people to be featured aren’t the “winners,” they’re simply a band of kids who demonstrate some of what’s great about growing up in this area. With their parents’ approval, the 10 kids chosen will be photographed and interviewed for a Volume One feature that will run in both print and online.
