The Altoona Boys & Girls Club opened up this June, offering programming for the summertime and after-school during the school year.
The Boys & Girls Club is focused on positive and healthy youth development, including extracurriculars across multiple areas like arts, performance, leadership, and community. Programming will be available from 7:30am-6pm for 10 weeks this summer, as well as after-school during the school year.
“Boys & Girls Clubs provide research-based youth development programs that focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship,” a press release stated. “The Positive Club Experience provides fun, safe, structured, and interactive activities and opportunities that help Club Kids develop to their full potential.”
Additionally, the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley approved a five-year plan for the program, especially expansion throughout the region. This includes grade and group size expansion, and increased facility capacity.
