National Night Out, an annual nationwide event that connects communities with law enforcement agencies to prevent crime, will be held the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 2, in several Chippewa Valley communities. Here are some details:

EAU CLAIRE

National Night Out in Eau Claire will be Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Carson Park. The event starts at 5:30pm and is free to the public. There will be food, games, a raffle, vendors, public service vehicle tours, music, and inflatables. There will also be a special magic show at 6pm and a mascot dance-off at 7:15pm. ALTOONA

Altoona’s National Night Out will run Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 5:30-8pm in River Prairie Park. “Stop out for fun with Altoona’s first responders! There will be emergency vehicles, games, free food, food trucks, balloon animals, bouncy houses, and music!” Learn more on Facebook.

CHIPPEWA FALLS

The Chippewa Falls National Night Out will be 5-8pm Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. Many local law enforcement, EMS, and fire agencies will be on hand to show off their equipment. There will be a police department vs. fire department dunk tank war, a K9 demonstration, a scavenger hunt, kids games, raffle and prize giveaways, and free food, root beer, and ice cream. MENOMONIE

In Menomonie, National Night Out will be held 6-8pm on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Wilson Park and the adjacent Cedar Corp. parking lot. There will be vehicle displays, kids activities (including inflatables), live music from the Jason Collins Quartet, a bike rodeo, food, and a concert from the Ludington Guard Band at 7:30pm.
