“Race Car Driver” (2021) Oil Painting by Heidi Schreiner • From the artist: “Have you ever ridden around in the bottom of the grocery cart? I distinctly remember it! In fact, I was crushed when I realized that I was just too big to fit. It was the end of an era.
Childhood adventures like my brother dressing up in my dad’s work clothes and stuffing them with pillows until they fit – my sister riding down the slide into the mud puddle at the bottom – making forts in the living room out of couch cushions – these memories are golden.
Sometimes we can capture a part of those memories – a glimpse."
