For Andie Wyne, a musician since six years young with a knack for composition, music has always been about more than sound. It was the relationship of note to player – chord to emotion, song to heart – that sparked her music career.

Her first single, “A Soul’s Song”, captures her emotional reflections on life while exploring sound with soft rock, folk, and classical elements. Slated to release in early February, this song marks a preview to her EP, set to release around April this year. “I relate to this song the most out of any of the songs I’ve written,” she said. “It’s melancholic yet hopeful and pensive … It definitely exemplifies the rest of the EP.”

Emphasizing the therapeutic aspect of writing, creating, and performing music, Wyne creates sounds to intentionally instill wonder and reflections in her listeners. “Once I write [a song], it’s not for me,” she stated. “It’s to help others feel connected to their own life and find the meaning for themselves in it. I find that this song in particular is very good at doing that. It’s just a song about being alive.”

“I have high standards for myself and my music,” she said. Inspired by Eau Claire’s waters, birdsongs, and especially the people, Wyne finds community working with Aviary Studios, friends, local open mic nights, and spiritual moments that allow her musical talents to come to life.

“I feel like specific people just have really embraced my music,” Wyne emphasized. Met with an abundance of understanding from listeners, her confidence leaped into finally recording an EP. “That’s a huge reason why I do music, and one of the main reasons I find songwriting and performing so fulfilling,” she said.
