If you’re craving fresh gyros and tender Italian beef, you’re in luck – B.B.G.’S is in business! 

Peter Matarangas, the owner of B.B.G.’S Restaurant & Catering (1465 Kennedy Road, Chippewa Falls), came to the United States from Greece at the age of 12 and has worked in the restaurant industry his entire life. In fact, he owned Lukulos Restaurant in Chicago for just over 32 years before moving to the Chippewa Valley area in 2018.

While Matarangas describes B.B.G’s —  “Burgers, Beefs, and Gyros” — as a fast-paced sandwich shop, there’s more to the biz than that. Want something different to serve at your next event? They offer catering! Need to pick up some eats on your way home from work? Hit up their drive-through! And best of all? Everything is made in-house.

“We cook our own beef, we slice our own gyro, and the difference is the savings from not getting it already pre-done,” Matarangas said. “So, when you do come in, you get a bigger sandwich. They get more for their buck, and it’s homemade.” 

In addition to beef, burgers, and gyros, B.B.G.’s dishes up an array of sandwiches, hot dogs, wraps, and salads. Matarangas’ favorite item on the menu, though, is the Italian beef. 

“It’s a real powerful sandwich worldwide, and it’s good for this area to offer it,” Matarangas said. 

Since they just opened their doors in June, Matarangas is focused on getting into the swing of things and keeping his new business afloat. Down the line, however, he’d love to expand his eatery and open other spots in the surrounding towns.
