After Cory Guerin graduated from UW-River Falls with a degree in accounting, his job search took him to Eau Claire. Upon relocating here, he met Chris Johnson, owner of Passion Board Shop (218 N. Dewey St.). Guerin had been a longtime listener of Johnson’s podcast, Passion Pod: The Pursuit of Passion.
When Guerin didn’t have any luck finding a job in accounting, he started toying with the idea of opening his own clothing store. Fashion has always been of interest to him. Guerin describes his look as “goofy and designer,” a unique style that gets him lots of compliments.
Guerin interned with Johnson at Passion Board Shop, learning the ropes of running a business while formulating his own game plan. His clothing store, Tag Flip, first debuted as a pop-up table at Boyd Skate Park earlier this summer. After a cross-country road trip to stock up on inventory, Guerin was ready to launch. Tag Flip is now a full-fledged store inside Passion Board Shop, where Guerin buys, sells, and trades men’s vintage streetwear and upcycled clothes.
To celebrate the store’s launch, Guerin held an opening event on Saturday, Aug. 26. The current hours for Tag Flip are Wednesdays through Sundays, 11-6pm.
Visit Tag Flip at 218 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire, and view available clothing at instagram.com/tagflip.
