Smells of cinnamon-topped apple cider, the anticipation of pumpkins to be carved, and a slight nip in the air all signal one thing: the absolute best time of the year. Halloween season is back in full swing and there are a ton of ways to celebrate in the Chippewa Valley.
People often ask why I have such an affinity for Halloween and fall in general, and I usually don’t have that great of an answer. I just love the vibes of the season, which are simultaneously chill and heart-pumping. The same child-like wonder and nostalgia that a lot of people feel around wintry holidays are what I feel every year when the calendar flips to October. I love brainstorming unique costume ideas, watching all of the classic Halloween movies, and I especially love partaking in fall festivities with my friends and family.
From spooky music in shops to haunted houses and trails – For some laughts, check out the Govin’s Twisted Tails of Horror video I took part in with co-editor, McKenna Scherer, last year! – there is always something for the whole family to enjoy in the Valley. Check out our Halloween Hauntings special section on page 42 to learn about all the creepy (in a nice, non-harmful way) fun you can have!
