So You Think You Have Talent, Chippewa Valley?
CVTG to hold first-time fundraiser event at The Pablo Center on March 21
Got a talent you’re looking to shine a little light on? The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild is hosting the first ever “So You Think You Have Talent Chippewa Valley” event on March 21. It will be a fundraiser for the group, which supports year-round arts programs for more than 10,000 adults and children in the region.
“After more than 20 years in the theater, I have been privileged to see a lot of amazing talent here in the greater Chippewa Valley,” said Ann Sessions, CVTG executive director. “With this event, we wanted a chance to showcase an even greater range of talents, skills, and abilities and produce a fabulous night of entertainment. And performers can win cash prizes!”
The show is looking for talents in four different categories: musical (instrumental, vocal, solo or group), comedy (sketches or standup, must be PG-13), dance (individual or small group), and theater/variety (magic, juggling, pet tricks, etc.).
To enter, you must be 10 years or older, with anyone under the age of 18 having written permission from a parent or legal guardian. Any dangerous stunts, performances with profanity, obscenity, or sexual content are not allowed in the contest. Anyone interested in performing must use the talent entry form which can be found on the CVTG website. There is no cost to enter the contest.
There will be a total of six prizes given out: The Grand Prize ($500), the Audience Favorite ($300), and $150 for winners in each of the four categories.
The show will be held on Thursday, March 21, in The Jamf Theatre at The Pablo Center at the Confluence. Tickets are $60 for the main floor and $30 for mezzanine seating. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 5, and can be purchased at cvtg.org.
