Cari Raynae is an Eau Claire native, a graduate of UW-Stout, and a retired Interior Designer. She paints, crochets, collages, eco-dyes, sews, and gardens. She and her husband have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
“Corn Patterns-2” (2022) • Acrylic and textiles on canvas • From the artist: “Corn Patterns-2 is my representation of a sight I experienced after helping my husband cut wood on a friend’s property. We got back into the truck, and as we descended the hill and entered the road, this scene appeared before me. The pattern of the corn stubble is reproduced in multiple ragged-edged fabrics and stitched embroidery floss. To some, the center of interest might be the house sitting on top of the hill, but to me the rhythms of the intersecting corn rows, and the small grouping of trees are just magical, and take the spotlight.”
