UP TO PAR: Two Golf Courses Join Forces With Reciprocal Membership
Tanglewood Greens of Menomonie and Lake Wissota Golf of Chippewa Falls team up
Where two businesses of shared interest could have choosen rivalry, instead they have taken a swing at partnership. While Tanglewood Greens, a championship 18-hole golf course in Menomonie, has been closed for renovations, it has created an alliance with Lake Wissota Golf Course in Chippewa Falls for golf enthusiasts looking to elevate their expertise.
It has been four years since Tanglewood’s doors have been open to the public, but it has not been for naught. They have been hard at work renovating the space to make up for their absence, complete with new improvements such as a full-service bar and restaurant, a new irrigation system, new equipment and maintenance facility, and a large event center to add to their already wide array of amenities. But while they have been closed, golf fanatics could still find themselves at the renowned Lake Wissota Golf, with manicured fairways and esteemed hospitality. In an effort to shake up the golfing scene, the two golf courses joined forces in a reciprocity benefit for their members.
As Tanglewood makes its finishing touches, current season pass holders at the course can play Lake Wissota Golf up to five times until Tanglewood is open. Alternatively, Lake Wissota Golf members will be given five guest passes to use at Tanglewood Greens once it opens its doors in mid-July 2024 through the end of the season.
For Mark Wallskog, owner of Tanglewood Greens, the renovations and newly established reciprocity is a way to redefine golfing excellence in the Chippewa Valley. “The opportunity to restore an absolutely beautiful golf course after four and a half years of being closed is such an exciting challenge,” Wallskog said. “The community has been so supportive of our efforts, and we hope to provide Chippewa Valley a great golf course to enjoy and have fun!”
Renovations at Tanglewood Greens (2200 Crestwood Drive, Menomonie) are set to be completed in mid-July 2024. For more information, check out the Tanglewood Greens website, find them on Facebook, or call (715) 440-3650.
