YOU CAN HOLD A CANDLE TO THESE CONCERTS: String Quartet to Bring Pop Tunes, Classics to Masonic Center
‘Candlelight’ series will including Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Adele, and Vivaldi
It’s time to turn the lights down and get stringy. Hosted by Fever events, the upcoming series of Candlelight concerts will feature different chamber orchestras performing alongside the gentle glow of candlelight in unique, intimate venues across the country. Starting in July, these events come to the Eau Claire Masonic Ballroom, 616 Graham Ave., with a series of four concerts.
According to the events’ promoters, “Candlelight Concerts are a series of original music concerts created by Fever aimed at democratizing the access to classical music. This innovative format represents a unique live musical experience through a varied offer of programs to meet all tastes, played by local musicians, in emblematic venues, with the space and performers illuminated by thousands of candles.”
A string quartet organized by the Listeso Music Group will perform four concerts, two on Friday, July 26, and two on Saturday, Sept. 21. At 6:30pm on July 26, enjoy a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, among other classical music. Later that night at 8:45pm, enjoy a string rendition of some of Taylor Swift’s most famous runes, including “Shake it Off,” “Blank Space,” “Cardigan,” and many more.
On Sept. 21 at 6:30pm, the quartet will first perform the music of Adele, including “Rolling in the Deep,” “Skyfall,” "Rumor Has It,” and more. Following it at 8:45pm, they’ll perform the music of Coldplay, such as “Paradise,” “Fix You,” and more.
These concerts promise a fresh, trendy take on classical and pop music alike with the sophistication of a string quartet.
