Dr. Brett Taylor, Dr. Lisa Henson, and Dr. Trevor Hallberg
At Regis Court Dental Associates, dentistry isn’t just about teeth. Naturally, keeping teeth healthy for aesthetic and functional reasons is vital. But so is making patients feel comfortable with taking the steps they need to maintain — or restore — their smiles.
“We try to provide that personalized experience for each patient,” explains Dr. Brett Taylor, one of three dentists at Regis Court Dental Associates in Eau Claire. “It’s not just ‘Well, I think you need this because I want to do this procedure.’ It’s what is actually best for you and what do you want as well, and how can we come to that happy place.”
And a happy, comfortable place is what Dr. Brett Taylor, Dr. Lisa Henson, and Dr. Trevor Hallberg create at Regis Court Dental Associates. The team is devoted to offering multidisciplinary treatment for a wide range of dental needs, from regular checkups and cleanings to sealants, fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, extractions, implants, and more.
“It’s not a one-size-fits-all,” Dr. Lisa says of the treatment offered at Regis Court Dental Associates. “It’s very, very tailored to what every patient needs and what their desired outcomes are.”
Sometimes those outcomes need high-tech help. Dr. Trevor notes that dentistry — like so many other aspects of life — is becoming more digital, with new tools like in-office 3D X-rays enhancing the services that Regis Court Dental Associates can provide. These devices make processes like extractions and placing dental implants — two of Dr. Trevor’s focuses — faster, easier, and more predictable. “It allows for the guesswork to be taken out, and to plan a procedure beforehand rather than trying to react to what you find once you start,” he says.
Before going to dental school, Dr. Trevor worked as an engineer at 3M, and he says the technical aspects of dentistry appeal to him. However, so does the human experience — something he found lacking in engineering.
“We really focus here on getting to know the patient first, and I really think that’s something special that this whole group loves to do,” Dr. Trevor says. “Just by being open and honest and spending the time to have deeper conversations, we can help a person realize that they can be comfortable here.”
Dr. Brett — who became a dentist after an 11-year career as a U.S. Air Force pararescue jumper — also aims to put patients at ease. Among his focuses are oral surgery and root canals. Despite root canals’ reputation as a synonym for discomfort, they’re “a good way to get people out of pain and allow them to keep the tooth,” Dr. Brett says.
Dr. Trevor and Dr. Brett both came on board at Regis Court Dental Associates in mid-2023. “They are not just highly skilled at what they do, but they are also so humble,” says Dr. Lisa, who joined the practice in 2009. “We are so grateful that they are with us, that we can work with such awesome people who are able to provide that care for patients, and do it in such a way that patients want to come back.”
“The goal is to see the patient beyond their smile and get to know them first and foremost as a person.”
Patients have been coming back to Regis Court Dental Associates for generations, since Dr. Joe Theisen founded the practice in 1978. Dr. Joe has since retired, but many of his patients — and their children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren — still make the practice their dental home.
“The majority of our patients are looking to keep their teeth healthy, but also to keep them strong so they can function for the rest of their lives,” Dr. Lisa says.
And, as always, Regis Court Dental Associates focuses on patients, not just their teeth.
“The goal is to see the patient beyond their smile and get to know them first and foremost as a person,” explains Jeffrey Henson, the business manager. “Healthcare now is so focused on efficiency and how quickly you can see someone to move on to the next, and what I find unique about what we do is just carving out a space where we can create as much time as the patient needs to treat them both from a personal standpoint, but also from a dental health standpoint.”
