The Children’s Museum of Eau Claire will be offering more of services outside its downtown location thanks to an anonymous donor and support from Xcel Energy. CMEC recently welcomed its first outreach vehicle, an all-electric Chevrolet Equinox, which will be used to offer enhanced services like after-school clubs and participation in area events.
According to a recent media release, the vehicle was acquired entirely through restricted or directed gifts, along with an EV Tax Credit, ensuring that no operational resources were diverted.
“This vehicle represents an exciting step in our efforts to offer new programs to families, schools, and the greater Chippewa Valley,” said Mike Lee, the museum’s CEO. “We are incredibly grateful to Xcel Energy and our anonymous donor for making this possible.”
Current programs and events CMEC collaborates on with community organizations includes the Family Nature Club program with Beaver Creek Reserve; Sensory Friendly Night events; and other field trips and experiences.
