THAT'S A PLUS. Who could say no to buy-one-get-one-free drinks — for an entire year? This could be your prize for winning one of four mouth-watering competitions in Clear Water Comedy's First Ever Eating Contest. Join your favorite Chippewa Valley comedians at 7pm on Dec. 4 at The Plus (208 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire) for a night of standup, big bites and more surprises in store.

For 10 years, Clear Water Comedy has brought both laughter and surprises to Chippewa Vallians. However, they have never before ventured into the realm of food contests... until now.

At 7pm on Dec. 4, The Plus (208 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire) will welcome Clear Water Comedy for its inaugural eating contest. For $7 in advance and $10 at the door, all are invited to compete against local comedians in mouth-watering categories for a grand prize: buy-one-get-one-free drinks at The Plus for all of 2026.

“We have been producing comedy shows for 10 years and (we) want to offer something new and exciting to people,” Cullen Ryan, co-founder of Clear Water Comedy, said. “I have attended one of these (events) before — at a bar — and I thought it was hilarious and a ton of fun. So, why not try it ourselves?”

Locals can purchase a ticket to enter one of the four competitions by dropping their name into a hat (literally), Ryan said. Participants will be limited to a single competition, if selected.

Compete against your favorite Clear Water Comedians in:

• Pitcher Of Beer Chugging Contest – can you chug an entire pitcher the fastest?
• Large Supreme Pizza Eating Contest – who can eat a large supreme pizza the fastest?
• Chicken Wing Speed Eating Challenge – how many chicken wings can you eat in five minutes?
• Spicy Wing Challenge – can you eat an order of the spiciest wings we can possibly make and survive without taking a drink of liquid for five minutes?

Competitors will battle it out to see who can chug a pitcher of beer the fastest, devour a large supreme pizza quickest and consume the spiciest wings imaginable (and survive five minutes without a drink to wash it down). Plus, there will be a separate challenge to see who can eat the most chicken wings in five minutes.

Chippewa Valley stand-up comics will perform several sets and deliver other amusing surprises along the way, including prize drawings for free comedy tickets and food specials.

“We have no idea what’s going to happen, (but) I think it’s going to be fun,” Ryan said. “Come hungry — come ready to win.”
