Standup comic and television actor Billy Gardell, most notable for his role as Mike in “Mike and Molly” for six seasons on CBS, will soon arrive in the Chippewa Valley for a night of laughter and storytelling.

“The Less Is More Tour,” Gardell’s upcoming comedic and narrative venture, will debut at 7pm on Jan. 30 at the Pablo Center at the Confluence (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire). The tour acts as a celebration of his decades-long journey through Hollywood's film and television landscape, sharing the genuine, down-to-earth wisdom he has acquired throughout his career.

Stories from his wild adolescence, new family life and journey with health and fitness are just the tip of the iceberg in Gardell’s forthcoming tour – his first theatrical tour with venue stops across the country.

Stand-up comedy has been central to his career – with notable performances through Comedy Central and Showtime – and the same will also be true for his forthcoming event at the Pablo Center.

Gardell, a Pittsburgh native now residing in Los Angeles, had – for a brief period – called Wisconsin home, during a series of comedic shows at Milwaukee Improv in Brookfield this past year. His return to the western part of the state will act as a celebration, kicking off the five-month tour.

Today, Gardell stars in the CBS series “Bob Hearts Abishola,” a love story about a middle-aged, “compression sock-wearing businessman” who unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, a Nigerian immigrant, while recovering from a heart attack.

Gardell will share stories from his time on set and chat about his previous work, including his acclaimed roles in “Mike & Molly” and “Young Sheldon,” among other productions.

Tickets for “The Less Is More Tour” at 7pm on Jan. 30 at the Pablo Center (starting at $34.65/person) can be purchased through the box office in person (128 Graham Ave., Eau Claire) or online at pablocenter.org.
