SECOND-HAND SCENES. Each year, Volume One offers an assortment of stories, listings and all-around attention to the Chippewa Valley's vintage purveyors (Seven Suns Vintage in downtown Eau Claire, pictured). Take a moment to sift through this year's "Vintage Wares" special section and see what contributing writers and photographers pop up!

It was around this time, two years ago, when I truly found my rhythm and dove back into the habit of bi-weekly storytelling for Volume One.

Then, I found myself pitching a few stories for the annual Vintage Wares special section – dive in, starting on pg. 32 of this very issue – based around topics that I personally wanted to learn more about (and hoped others did too): local vintage dealers and how they sourced their treasured finds.

Sure enough, this snowballed into dozens of articles later and now – with a full-time roll at V1 (thank you, bossman, for that) – the chance to routinely share stories (free to view!) every two weeks with locals from all walks of life in the Valley. Goes without saying, this annual special section serves as a vital reminder for how much I value our contributing writers of the magazine.

Flip through these pages and you'll discover a collection of stories, photographs and illustrations crafted by folks representing both familiar and fresh perspectives across our community.

Take a moment to sift through the playful bios and our bi-weekly special shout-out section – you might just spot a few returning names among the talented contributors listed there. Just maybe, it will be the nudge you need to put pen to paper – or in my case, fingertips to keyboard – and try your hand at local storytelling.

Send us an email at editorial@volumeone.org and don't hesitate to reach out with your ideas!
