The Holcombe Madrigal Court Singers are comprised of an 18-member vocal ensemble, joined by a Crier, Friar, Hag, Jester, ‘Pillagers,’ Pages and Instrumentalists. Music from the Renaissance period and contemporary composers is presented, occasionally interspersed with some hilarious “tomfoolery!” During the final portion of the performance, the Nativity story from the Gospel of Luke is read by the Friar while Advent songs related to the readings are sung. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used in part to defray costs incurred by the Heyde Center’s hosting, with the bulk of the revenue gifted to Hope Village. This performance is a perfect way to prepare for Christmas and celebrate Jesus’ birth.
