A little hazy, grainy and bursting with color, light and movement. That is precisely the feeling left behind after the annual Campout in the Pines with The String Cheese Incident and company.

Held from Aug. 14-15 at The Pines Music Park (5024 Crescent Ave., Eau Claire), the event brought national performing acts together for an intimate music and camping experience.

"From the golden sun-sets, tight hugs and smiles to the dancing, music, colorful outfits, and everything in between, you made this weekend one to remember," Campout in the Pines organizers shared online.

Aimed to be a family-friendly atmosphere, the festival grounds hosted a variety of interactive events throughout the weekend, from hula hoop demonstrations to art installations and workshops.

Notably, The Arts Creative – based in Minnesota – brought its "Hot Art Bus" for attendees to "get creative, get a little messy and make something of their own."

While there are many ways to wrap up a U.S. tour, The String Cheese Incident chose to celebrate the end of theirs with two performances – one for each night of the campout. If these photos tell us anything, the crowd was full of energy as band members performed renditions of "Give Me the Love," "Just One Story," among other hit tracks.

A highlight for many festival goers was the grounds' Backwoods Stage, which featured the official debut of Eggy on night one, Aug. 14. Hours of live performance (and non-stop dancing) flashed by in an instant; the magnetic jam band delivered on their promise for exploratory improvisation as the night concluded.

Needless to say, we sure hope they return next summer.

Although we long to experience the music all over again, these analog snapshots preserve the warmth, community and unforgettable memories from another magical weekend among the pines.
