With three-quarters of a century officially under its belt this year, Beaver Creek Reserve is throwing a camping-themed celebration on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 4-8 pm. And don’t worry, it won’t be too in-tents – the 75th-anniversary celebration will be packed with fun for the whole family, even encouraging attendees to wear their best camping attire or vintage Beaver Creek apparel.
The camp’s theme is a nod to its 1947 origin when it was founded as the Eau Claire County Youth Camp. They’ll keep to the theme with catering from Karl’s Bar-B-Q (also offering a vegetarian option) and adult beverages and soda for purchase.
The evening will also double as its annual meeting and volunteer and donor appreciation event where the organization will announce the 2022 award winners, plus celebrate Beaver Creek’s overall successes throughout the years.
From 4-6 pm, folks can check in at the Wise Nature Center and Program Open House where activities like Monarch tagging will occur. Afterward, from 6-7:30 pm, the annual meeting will happen, followed up by a social hour and nighttime programming until 8 pm.
Guests can use Beaver Creek’s onsite lodging and even stay overnight in one of their cabins to get the full camp experience or pitch a tent in their tenting area after the event. Live music will also ring through the evening by local trio band Songa.
Beaver Creek invites folks to send any photos with captions, stories, and more to them to share beloved memories at the reserve over its last 75 years, either through the mail (Beaver Creek Reserve at S1 County Rd. K, Fall Creek, Wi, 54742) or by email at john@beavercreekreserve.org.
Tickets are available to purchase online now – $20 for adults; $10 for ages 2-15; Free for kids under 2 years – preregistration ending on Friday, Sept. 9, with tickets also available at Beaver Creek at the event.
