Since 2024, the Chippewa Valley has welcomed at least two self-service kayak rentals amenities – one in Eau Claire on Braun’s Bay and another in Menomonie off of Lake Menomin – and as of June 4, there’s a third option now available in Chippewa County.
Now available at the Lake Hallie Boat Launch (13136 30th Ave., Chippewa Falls), the new self-service kayak rental station provides a mix of single and tandem kayaks as well as life jackets.
Rental rates start at $12 for the first hour using a single kayak ($9/hour for each additional hour) and $17 for a tandem kayak ($12/hour for each additional hour). Availability and kayak booking is completed through www.instapaddle.com, selecting “Lake Hallie Boat Landing” and booking your rental ride.
“The rentals create more opportunities for residents to get outside, stay active and enjoy the natural beauty right here in our community,” Village of Lake Hallie administrator and clerk-treasurer, Anastasia Stueber, stated in a recent media release.
Chippewa County Tourism Director, Ellie Peabody, also noted the rental kayaks station as another avenue for visitors to get to know the area, and for all to enjoy the area’s outdoor recreation scene.
The new rental station is located near the Lake Hallie Golf Course and River Jams restaurant. Talk about a full-day adventure: yakin’, golfin’ and eatin’ all in one area.
