Pure Water Days returned to downtown Chippewa Falls on Saturday, Aug. 8, after last year's celebration was cancelled (thanks, Mother Nature). This time around, the parade had an aquatic theme: Over & Under the Sea.
While most parade participants – reportedly 50 or so of 'em, including the Chippewa Falls High School marching band, Northern Wisconsin State Fair Association, local Boy Scouts and plenty more – ditched their flippers and gills and rolled with general parade garb instead, the kiddos on the sidelines who left with handfuls of candy didn't seem to mind.

Earlier in the day, before the afternoon parade, hundreds participated in the Pure Water Days fun-run/walk events. Hosted by the Chippewa Falls YMCA and Senn Blacktop, funds from those rec events went toward the YMCA Annual Campaign to support its programs and memberships.
And if neither the parade nor run/walk events intrigued people, Riverfront Park promised vendors and live music for all to enjoy. There, Riverfest activities ran from about 2-8pm, immediately following the parade.
