Strangely on Screen

indie film starring Chi-Hi grad screens at Micon

James Johonnott |

Roll out the red carpet in Chippewa Falls. Michelle Lang, star of the indie romantic comedy Strangely In Love and a Chippewa Falls native, will be attending a premier screening of the film at the Chippewa Falls Micon Cinemas. Strangely In Love tells the story of Fyo, a man-child who falls in love with Nastenka (played by Lang), a hot-headed blind girl and the only person to acknowledge his existence. Nastenka is desperate to wait for her lover to return from Africa – where he has gone to save the children – and Fyo will do anything to be with her, even if it means reuniting her with her lover. The film has been described as a quirky, “Chaplin-esque” take on Dostoevsky’s White Nights set in modern-day Los Angeles. Seating is limited to 374 people and tickets are expected to sell fast, so be sure to reserve your tickets now to this very special event to celebrate a local actress. A reception will be held from 12-5pm and showtimes are 1pm and 3pm. The screening is sponsored by Chippewa Falls Chapter BF of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and all proceeds from the event will go to education for women.
