Northern Wisconsin State Fair’s 123-Year History Detailed in New Book

Northern Wisconsin State Fair – A Fair to Remember, a new 144-page pictorial history book, describes the fair’s 123-year history in a delightful format with hundreds of photos, news articles, and residents’ anecdotes, that make reading the book easy and fun.
Published by the Chippewa County Historical Society, this book is the third produced by local authors Donna Bourget and Ann Keller. The first was published in 2017 in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the creation of Lake Wissota: Lake Wissota – The Dam Story. The second was published in 2019 – Irvine Park – The Bear Facts.
All proceeds will be contributed to the new Area History Center Capital Campaign. The first two books have raised more than $50,000 for the building project.
The book is available for $20 in Eau Claire at the Chippewa Valley Museum and The Local Store and in Chippewa Falls at the Chippewa County Historical Society, Country Treasures, Foreign Five, and Sand Bar & Grill, and a handful of other locations.
