PUMPKINS, PRANKS, AND PLENTY OF SWEETS. This time of year, everyone has one question: What time is trick-or-treating?!

Whichever floats your boat – tricks or treats! – there's ample opportunity to get in on the Halloween fun across the Chippewa Valley. Downtown businesses in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and Menomonie are planning their own seasonal spooks this year, while residential trick-or-treating will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5-7:30pm throughout the area. 

Downtown Trick-or-Treating Hours

Eau Claire: Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10am-Noon

Chippewa Falls: Friday, Oct. 31 from 3-5pm

Menomonie: Thursday, Oct. 30 from 4-7pm

Haunted Houses & Trails

• Ski Sprites Haunted House (link)
  • This season, the Ski Sprites invite all to journey through their "Wicked Oz" haunted house experience – if you dare!
  • Dates (all from 7-11pm): Oct. 16-18; Oct. 23-25; Oct. 30-31; Nov. 1
• Leffel Roots Apple Orchard's Night Maze (link)
  • Bring your flashlights and head out to the orchard for a mega night maze!
  • Dates: Every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 18 from 6-10pm
• Field of Screams Haunted Trail and Barn (link)
  • This year's theme, "HUNTED," is sure to absolutely terrify you. The roughly one-hour experience's proceeds will benefit local youth organizations and Feed My People.
  • Dates (all from 7-10pm): Oct. 17-18; Oct. 24-25; Oct. 31

Field of Screams (8020 Curvue Rd., Eau Claire)

• The Haunted Trail – Paranormal Purge (link)
  • Mondovi's Anthony Acres School is hosting a paranormal-themed haunted trail with plenty of spooky surprises included. Cider, popcorn, and a bake sale also included. 
  • Date: Oct. 25 from 6-9pm
• Screamin' Hollow Haunted Trail (link)
  • A roughly 3/4-mile trail through the woods with plenty of scream-worthy scares. Food trucks and bevs available on-site. 
  • Dates (all from 6:30-10pm): Oct. 30-31; Nov. 1

• Dinner & Classic Horror Movie at Brewery Nonic (link)
  • Swing by Menomonie's Brewery Nonic for a free screening of a classic horror flick on the patio and enjoy a meal by Chef Stacy.

• Jack-O-Lantern Lane at The Local Store (link)
  • Downtown Eau Claire's The Local Store is hosting its first ever pumpkin carving contest and experience! For kiddos and adults, all ages can compete. Purchase a pumpkin for $5 at The Local Store and return your carved artwork for folks to vote on their favorites (Oct. 24-26) and see the public display through Nov. 1. 
  • Hot apple cider, fresh roasted nuts, theatrical lighting, and lit Jack-O-Lanterns on-site
• Halloween Vintage Radio Plays - Live! (link)
  • Thrills and chills will be delivered with two 30-minute live radio plays at Menomonie's Rassbach Museum.
  • Dates: Oct. 24 at 6pm and 8pm; Oct. 25 at 6pm and 8pm
• Downtown Eau Claire Zombie Crawl (link)
  • The Zombie Crawl returns! Dress up in your undead best for a crawl through several participating downtown businesses. Free to take part in plus a costume contest, unlimited shuttle rides ($7) all night, chances to prizes, and more.
