Parks in the area often don’t get the credit they deserve, as they serve as the setting for countless memories (plus they’re free). Marking its sixth first-place finish in this category, Irvine Park and Zoo (125 Bridgewater Ave., Chippewa Falls) cannot be beat. This park contains hundreds of acres that include caves, bridges, exploratory fun, a zoo, and so much more. Carson Park (100 Carson Park Drive, Eau Claire) is a gorgeous natural getaway that also includes athletic fields, a lake, trails two museums, and a mini railroad. Grab your hammock and some snacks, because once you’re in Carson Park you won’t want to leave. Phoenix Park (330 Riverfront Terrace, Eau Claire) is the best park for picnics, walks, and laughter year-round. It’s great to see the community invest in making public lands like these beautiful and accessible for everyone to use and enjoy for years to come. –Kelly Carlson
