Should anyone need to take to the sidewalks, a few local intersections are known for the white-knuckle terror they inspire. First is the intersection of Hastings Way and Brackett Avenue. The relatively recent addition of a CVS has made this area a walker’s death trap. There are far too many spots to potentially cross paths with an uninvited vehicular guest. Second is Clairemont and Stein, where college students or hospital patients who need a bagel fix better be ready to sprint because drivers aren’t thinking twice about stepping on their gas pedal full throttle. In third is Highway 93 and Golf Road, but it’s really hard to slow down after booking it at 81 on the interstate, right? That’s what many drivers think at least. –Eric Rasmussen
