After 2021, most of us are medically resistant to disappointment. The significant doses that infected us all will provide lifelong protection. Still, a few local events managed to break through that immunity. Maybe next year, right? Former school board president Joe Luginbill will not face criminal charges, despite his involvement in potentially fraudulent business practices and his splitting town after those transgressions came to light. In second place are the protests against vaccines and other community-wide measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. In third is a problem that finally seems to be receiving some of the focus it deserves – the growing number of community members without homes. –Eric Rasmussen
