The Chippewa Falls-based Vietnamese-style eatery, TemptAsian, will soon bring its near-endless boba tea options, homemade steam rolls, deep fried Pandan Oreos, and more to Eau Claire when it opens a second location this summer.
Owners (and siblings) John Tran and Tiffany Tran came together to launch TemptAsian at 504 N. Bridge Street in 2021, replacing what had most recently been Ku’s Asian Express. After opening to an outpouring of support from the Chippewa Falls community in 2021, more than two years later the Trans knew they had outgrown their original space.
“We wanted to expand our menu with unique Vietnamese dishes, and with the current location, it just was not possible,” John explained.
“with a larger location we will be adding to the menu ... boba tea, pho, and banh mi will be our main menu focus.”

After first searching for a new location in Chippewa Falls – and engaging in a few negotiations that did not work out – the Trans continued their search in Eau Claire. John recognized the array of Asian eateries in E.C., but pointed out the gap TemptAsian could fill. “E.C. has many Asian food options, but zero specifically Vietnamese places,” John said. “We will be the first, and hope that we are welcomed with open arms.”
As for the new location? The TemptAsian team has been working diligently to add its unique flair to its second spot – 2823 E. Hamilton Ave., Eau Claire, which was home to Juanita’s Mexican Restaurant until just a handful of weeks ago.
Chippewa Falls folks need not worry, as the Trans are already in the process of training a new chef, Brandon Orcholski, to continue TemptAsian operations at its original location.
“We thought that closing the Chippewa location would be a disservice to the good people of Chippewa Falls who made this second location possible,” John said. “We have no plans of closing the Chippewa Falls location.”
Orcholski is a professional personal chef, and beyond his passion and talent for food, John said there was another key trait that stuck out to him: Orcholski’s family-first mentality. “He has a passion for food and is motivated to succeed, all while putting his family first. That’s what TemptAsians is all about,” John said. “Family first.”
When Orcholski is trained in and overseeing the Chippewa Falls location, John and Tiffany will shift their focus to the E.C. location, which will allow the TemptAsians menu to grow. John said everything that is on the C.F. location’s menu will also be available at the E.C. eatery – and more.
“With a larger location we will be adding to the menu in E.C.,” John said. “We will be adding more traditional Vietnamese favorites: Boba tea, pho, and banh mi will be our main menu focus.”
John said the team hopes to have the new location ready around mid-July and will hold a soft opening with a randomly-selected group of people, which they will choose through their Facebook page. The entire meal for each person attending the soft opening will be complimentary, as it offers the staff a chance to engage with customers prior to the grand opening, and the team can gain feedback on its cuisine.
