EAU CLAIRE HAS A ROBUST THEATER SCENE,

supported by both the university and local community theater groups. The two major community groups in town are the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild and the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre. Both produce shows at their own venues as well as at the Pablo Center at the Confluence downtown. Interested in participating? Keep an eye out for auditions!

Home-Grown Comedy

Eau Claire is home to an awesome independent standup comedy scene, much of it catalyzed by Clear Water Comedy, a collective of local comics who book, produce, and perform together. Much of their activity is centered at The Plus (208 S. Barstow St.), which hosts a weekly Tuesday night open mic and a Thursday night comedy showcase. Clear Water Comedy fosters a talented group of local comedians while also booking nationally known touring comics.

More recently, a theater devoted to improv comedy, Oh Claire Improv, has opened to provide a home for improv and standup shows as well as comedy classes at 515 Wisconsin St.
