You might have to sit in the car with a rumbling stomach for a bit longer to get to these spots, but they’re certainly worth it. Second-time winner Foster’s Fireside (E10934 County Road HH, Osseo) is about a 20-minute drive from Eau Claire, but its wood-fired pizza has changed the za game and made that drive worth it. Old Abe’s Supper Club (17256 155th Ave., Jim Falls) is about a half hour from Eau Claire, whose popular dishes include its prime rib and fish fry. Together Farms (W93 Norden Road, Mondovi) is known for its popular Burger Nights serving 100% grass-fed beef and is a half-hour drive away.  –McKenna Scherer
