Walking down Barstow Street you’ll immediately come across the first-place winner for Best Public Art Installation: Sculpture Tour Eau Claire. It’s hard to miss all the sculptures adorning Eau Claire’s downtown, and you’ll be captivated by new sculptures every year. In second place is a short-lived but amazingly cool public art installation, Volume One and UW-Eau Claire»s Chalkfest. During Chalkfest each July, anyone can apply to create chalk art on a sidewalk square on the UW-Eau Claire campus. As part of the Public Painting Project, a group of artists work together to create murals in Eau Claire that reflect stories of our community. The project took third place this year. —Measha Vieth
