Perhaps one of the Valley’s most iconic pastimes and means of transportation, biking as a hobby and sport is made possible by the great trails in the region. Voted No. 1 is the Chippewa River State Trail that has an access point in the heart of Eau Claire (Phoenix Park) and winds through Dunn and Pepin county fields, towns, and woods. Lowes Creek County Park has multiple wooded trails for bikers, whether they’re beginners or experts. Make sure to keep an eye out for local wildlife and hikers taking in the view of the creek. Returning to the No. 3 spot in the latest poll is the Red Cedar State Trail, which can be accessed from the Chippewa River State Trail and downtown Menomonie. The trail passes over beautiful bridges, through the Dunnville State Wildlife Area, and past unique rock formations. —Kelly Carlson
