Coming in as the No. 1 most underrated thing of the past year are local artists. You know ‘em, you love ‘em, but maybe give ‘em even more love, eh? In second place: food pantries. These resources play an important role in supporting people struggling with food insecurity. They do much of their work behind the scenes and without glory, and their efforts are vital. And in third place, the City of Chippewa Falls — which has sometimes been treated like the Canada to Eau Claire’s America. Poo on that. More of us would benefit from taking time to check out the longtime and unique businesses, parks, history and great grub that Chippewa Falls has to offer. —Amanda Polden
